Starting a Business, But Need An SEO Consultancy For Guidance & Expansion?

From time to time, I get approached by new businesses interested in SEO and Google Ads services to help them get their new business underway and grow online. Although I do state on my Discovery Page that I'm only interested in a business that is already established, has existing cash flow and might have some experience in SEO tactics, I sometimes think - Is that fair?

If so, what criteria should I look for to ensure that my input is productive and will help them without burdening them with an ongoing and quite often a large monthly investment?

Criteria For SEO Services For A Brand New Business

SEO on a website is now a component of several factors and will take time to deliver upon any campaign. I do not want to take on a brand-new business if it does not fulfil the criteria below. Again, this is a selective process, and I take my work seriously, but if you are the right business, with sufficient capital to get started, then the SEO for your new business might just work...

1. Service Based Niche

High Revenue Potential

Having ranked websites since 2015, I've been approached by business owners operating in numerous niches. Some are niches that are very niche, but will not generate a high enough revenue to make SEO marketing feasible. Or they operate on such a small local area that the market is simply too small. If you're unsure, reach out to me and we can see if there is potential.

Sufficient Financial Resources

The main reason I generally only take on established businesses is that they have strong cash flow in place and can quite simply afford the additional marketing payments required to expand their business. It will not damage them and they are still able to operate. A new business, however, needs cash flow straight away and cannot generally wait for the SEO or Google Ads to start paying dividends. 

Serious - No Clowns

I will not be mucked around with any clients who do not take marketing seriously and who do not take the time to understand the process and their niche. Calling me every other day, asking how things are going, and chasing me about frivolous items that aren't part of the foundations of SEO, or trying to suggest how to do SEO, will only lead to one outcome: separation. And if you start making up excuses for payment, then the divorce happens sooner.
